Tamahay Camp for Girls
What we're all about...
Tamahay Camp for Girls is full of adventure: making new friends, appreciating nature, and trying new things. Our program is based on the premise that young people enjoy learning, doing, and being self-sufficient with the assurance of adult reinforcement and encouragement.
Camp life at Tamahay gives girls the opportunity to live and play in a supportive community, away from the pressures of everyday life and the distractions of modern technology and social media. Each camper gains confidence as she learns new skills and makes new friends, knowing that her contribution to the community is important. Campers learn to work together, even as they become more independent and self-reliant.
Tamahay was founded with the intent of providing a quality camp experience at an affordable price. We believe all young people deserve the opportunity to experience and learn to love nature. Girls need to be able to explore new activities in a nonjudgmental atmosphere that encourages adventure and inspires confidence.
Tamahay Camp for Girls is not a country club for kids. The time spent here may be the nearest thing to “roughing it” some girls will ever know. Living in the out-of-doors teaches campers to care for the environment, while appreciating and enjoying all that nature has to offer.
Former campers have told us that Tamahay is more than a place. It is a feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction that goes with each camper, giving her inner peace from which she will draw for her whole life.
