YMCA CAMP SILVER BEACH

YMCA Camp Silver Beach is located on the Eastern Shore of Virginia on the Chesapeake Bay on 151 acres of heavily wooded grounds and 1200' of pristine beach front. Boys and girls ranging in age from 8 to 16 and counselors from around the world join together to enjoy activities such as water sports, a 55' Alpine Tower Challenge Course, two swimming pools, Wet Willie giant water slide, skate park with obstacle course, tennis and basketball courts, sailing, kayaking, water skiing, wake boarding,knee boarding, tubing, archery, riflery, martial arts, dance, drama, environmental discovery, and arts & crafts programs. All cottages are heated, air-conditioned and carpeted with 2 fullbathrooms. CSB maintains a 4 to 1 camper-counselor ratio and is ACA Accredited. Specialized three week programs are also offered for rising high school freshman, sophomores and juniors; Counselor In Training/Leadership Development Program and Teen Adventure Camp. While our main goal is for campersto have fun and perfect their talents we also focus on making new friends, renewing friendships and building healthy relationships. Friendships give children the ability to improve their social skills, gain confidence, communicate effectively, and gain respect for all people.Selecting a camp is as important as selecting a family physician or place of worship. When making your camp selection, both child and adult should have a serious conversation about their goals and expectations, making certain each will be comfortable with the decision, therefore helping to ensure a successful, enjoyable experience.
