Surprise Lake Camp

What we're all about...
Surprise Lake Camp is a special place, a home away from home for generations of young people. We believe in the value of community and friendship. Our Jewish values and identity shape our days and our connection to nature. We’re dedicated to helping young people unplug, grow, and develop values, confidence, and skills to last a lifetime. And we are fortunate to share this extraordinary place, this setting of incredible natural beauty, adding to SLC’s storied history as the nation’s longest-running Jewish sleepaway camp.
Every day we enrich the hearts and souls of every member of our community in profound ways proven to develop character, facilitate growth, nurture independence, and build friendships that last a lifetime.
Our well-trained, caring staff strive to enhance each child’s sense of discovery, connection, and achievement–and help teens grow as leaders and role models for younger campers.
Our entire team is dedicated to excellent care, with an emphasis throughout the camp on physical and emotional well-being. Leaders of the effort, our Camper Care Team includes the staff of our excellent, well-equipped Health Center and Support Supervisors.
