What we're all about...

The Drama-Play Connection is a fun, 6-week summer program that uses the powerful art of drama to teach and foster the development of social skills. The highlight of the summer is the full hour-long movie the children and teens make. Other fun activities include swimming, outdoor sports and activities, arts and crafts, and weekly field trips. We also offer an extended day program that includes workshops such as fencing, film making and editing, photography, culinary arts, sports, swimming, art, etc. In addition to filming and the drama workshop, the students also receive direct instruction on social skills as well as social coaching. All of these skills are delivered in a 'stealth' manner that is useful not only for children struggling with social skills, but also for mainstream children and teens. Older teens participate as CITs (Counselors in Training), and in addition to CIT training, they also work on skills to facilitate job and college success (e.g., interviewing skills, dealing with independence, roommates, etc.).
