Camp Tannadoonah

What we're all about...
Camp Tannadoonah is a summer camp located in Vandalia, MI (45 min from South Bend, IN and about 2 hours from Chicago). The camp is located on beautiful Birch Lake.
We offer both day and overnight camp programs for approximately 150 youth each week, ages 5 to 16. The camp season runs from mid-June to mid-August each summer. Sessions range from 3 days to 11 days, and many campers attend multiple sessions.
Overnight campers live in cabins with 2-4 counselors in each cabin. Staff supervision ratios are 4:1 or better. Activities include sports, nature and environmental education, arts programs, waterfront activities (swimming, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, paddle boarding, waterskiing, fishing), outdoor cooking, traditional camp crafts, camp songs, teambuilding, leadership programs, and much more!
Our goal is to provide a safe and inclusive environment where campers can find their "sparks" (aka things they love to do), lift their voices, and discover who they are. We are a chartered council of Camp Fire, a national youth-serving organization, and just celebrated our 100th anniversary in 2021.
We strive to provide a traditional summer camp program. One of our goals is to provide a tech-free and screen-free week (or more!) for campers and staff. Our staff attend two full weeks of training prior to the start of camp, and lifeguards and waterfront staff are certified on site.
